Anterran Elf
Common Race | Small Creature
Standing at around 3 foot tall with long pointed ears, Elves are a long lived and resilient people. They are a kind of hospitable lot, valuing friends and family above all else, even keeping friends and partners for centuries. A free Elf is one who is cheerful and confident, inventive expression comes second nature to them and power is often not seen as a vital aspect of life to them, rather comfort and expression take center stage.
Elves have brilliant minds and an insatiable thirst for knowledge, often locking endless bits of information within their trap-like minds and usually possess a seemingly endless pile of notes scribbled onto scraps of paper which are stuffed into any available container. It is due to this nature that the Elves do not easily forget a good or bad deed done, seeking to repay debts even decades after the debtor has perished.
They are commonly seen as wanderers, bards, and loners. Occasionally hitching rides onto a passing caravans, secretly repairing and maintaining the possessions of the band in exchange for bits of food. If the elf is brave enough they will introduce themselves to someone in the caravan, offering hearty food recipes, fun trinkets, exciting tales, and maintenance to the people in exchange for protection.
Once someone has earned the trust of an elf, they will consider them family and will treat them as such.
Appearance
Generally Elves possess few possessions and only a few, comfortable pairs of clothes that they carry inside of their travelling packs as they wander across the land in search of a new bit of knowledge or adventure. While you’d believe them to be practical and down to earn, they often will adorn their clothing with bright colors, flowing scarves, and glittering accessories. There are few rules an Elf follows; life is about experiences and above all should be pleasurable. An Elf does not judge someone by their immediate actions, but by the quality of their life. If an Elf is angry, hungry, sad, in love, etc they will fully commit to this feeling to a large degree until it disappears, as expressing an emotion is the deepest pleasure a mortal can experience. This emotion does not reflect the being, but is simply one stoke of the brush of the larger painting of your life.
All Elves consider it vital to preserve the Elvish history and family line in any way possible. Their numbers dwindled over centuries and Elves have slowly become more solitary beings.
Elf Hunting
There are many who consider elves to be a blight upon Anterra; bringing disease and misfortune to those who cross their paths. As a result they will often form parties to track down and kill a nearby Elf.
Some sects of humans consider Elvish ears a delicacy, others will simply wear dried ears as trophies.
Due to this sport, Elves are becoming increasingly rarer in numbers and will soon be driven to extinction.
