Common Race | Large Creature


Orc are massive creatures with hulking arms, a mouth full of long sharp teeth, and matted fur covering their monolithic bodies. Additionally, Orcs have a keen sense of smell and can easily pinpoint the location of a familiar smell in a matter of moments.

Orc have had a long running feud with the Human Race, brought on by centuries of fighting for land. Though this feud often results in simple discrimination or a tendency to just avoid or talk down to humans, some tribes will outright hunt any human near their fortress and mount their heads onto pikes as a trophy.

An Orc’s reputation is tied to the pride of their races superior strength and their reputation for ferocity and aggression makes them one of the most feared races in Anterra.

Appearance


Orcs have massive, heavy bodies. On their faces they have round, dark eyes. Small round ears located near the top of its head are quite sensitive and will easily pick up the sounds of a creature attempting to ambush it with little effort. A snout protrudes from its face and ends in a wet black nose.

The teeth of an Orc are long and sharp, used to threaten and the maim those they hunt. Finally the Orc has thick matted fur covering the entire surface of their bodies which allow these people to survive in a variety of conditions and even resist some forms of lesser magic. These first are generally are black, white, brown, and gray. Some human hunters will wear Orc pelts or braids as a trophy.

An orc will often shave designs into their fur and also tend to grow out the hair on their heads to be adorned with braids, beads, and bones.

Life as an Orc


An Orc’s life is about the strength of their clan. To prove that they are the strongest and most capable warriors is a philosophy taught to all Orc cubs from a young age. Fighting is a form of entertainment for them and there is nothing more honorable than an Orc with a hut lined with trophies from hunts and battles. The Orc have been known to use their massive arms to wrap around and crush a smaller creature just to prove their strength.

In spite of their seemingly savage lifestyle, you will often find an Orc enjoying a Honeybrew Ale with friends in a tavern, playing with their cubs, or engaging in friendly wrestling matches with other Orcs. Ultimately, to the Orc, by helping each other become stronger, the Orc race as a whole will become stronger. Sometimes this is expressed in tough love, sometimes this is in encouraging those around them to take more risks during an adventure.
